A private AI pilot,
inside your own boundary.
One department, one term, no licence fee. Merzal AI runs on infrastructure you govern, grounded in your circulars and your syllabus — and nothing leaves the campus.
No licence fee for the pilot. No commitment to continue.

Merzal AI live since live deployment on 10 August 2026 at Mailam Engineering College, in the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science department. A limited number of pilot slots are open to other institutions in Tamil Nadu this academic year.
Deployment scheduledWhy a pilot, and why now
AI is already on your campus. None of it belongs to you.
Faculty are paying for consumer subscriptions out of their own pockets. Students use whatever is free that week. Somewhere between the two, a policy draft or an accreditation file gets pasted into a chat window and leaves the institution for good.
That is nobody's fault — the tools are useful and no one offered an alternative. But it leaves management unable to answer a question they will eventually be asked: where does our institutional knowledge live, and who is accountable for the answers it produces?
A pilot answers that question in one term, on one department, at no licence cost. It is the smallest honest test of whether this belongs on your campus.
- Grounded
- Every answer cites your own documents
- Owned
- Your index, your data, your hardware
- Scoped
- One department, criteria agreed in writing
- Reversible
- It ends after a term, and nothing was spent
What the pilot includes
Three things, working by the end of it
The platform does more than this. A pilot should not — three things that visibly work are worth more than eleven that were switched on.
Your own documents, ingested before day one
We take the circulars, the syllabus, the regulations and the past question papers you already hold, and make them answerable. On the first morning of the pilot the platform already knows your institution — nobody spends the term uploading files.
An assistant your students will actually open
It answers from your material and cites the page it came from, so a student can check the source instead of trusting a summary. Available at eleven at night before an exam, which is when the question is usually asked.
A boundary you can point at
Inference, retrieval and storage stay inside the perimeter you govern. When your IT lead asks where the data went, the answer is a room on your campus — not a clause in a contract.
How it runs
Four steps, and you can stop after any of them
Nothing here is a sales sequence. Each step ends in a decision that is yours, and the criteria for the last one are written down before the first.
01
Thirty minutes with your management team
We run the platform against a handful of your own circulars, live. Bring whoever can decide and whoever will object — the governance question and the security question come up eventually, and it is faster when they come up together.
02
One department, scoped in writing
You pick the department. We agree what success looks like before anything is installed, so the review at the end is against your criteria rather than ours.
03
Deployment, hybrid or on-premise
Ingestion, role mapping and department scoping. Faculty and students are using it inside the same term — there is no year-long implementation programme.
04
A review, and an honest answer
Adoption, query themes and staff hours reclaimed, measured against what we agreed in step two. If it did not earn the rest of the campus, we say so and nothing has been spent.
What it replaces
The comparison is not with another vendor. It is with today.
A general assistant is better than us at general knowledge and we will not pretend otherwise. The difference shows up on institutional work, where the architecture decides the outcome.
Faculty paying for consumer subscriptions personally
One platform under institutional administration, priced per enrolled student
A policy draft pasted into a chat window and gone for good
The same draft answered inside your own boundary, with an audit line
A general assistant that has never read your regulations
Answers grounded in your circulars, with the page cited
No way to say where institutional knowledge lives
One index, on hardware you own, with a log of every query
Why we built it
We are not going to show you testimonials we have not earned.
Merzal AI has one deployment scheduled and no customers yet. What we have is a clear reason for building it: institutions in this state are handing their knowledge to systems they do not govern, one pasted document at a time, and nobody has offered them an alternative that runs inside their own walls.
The pilot exists because that argument should be tested on your campus with your documents, not accepted on ours. If it does not hold, a term is the cheapest way to find out.
